Steve Gano has been lobbying in Washington State since 1984 and started Steve Gano and Associates in 1990.
Over the years he has established a reputation for his tireless work ethic and strategy to assist his clients in achieving their goals. His understandings of opposing viewpoints and willingness to work on reasonable solutions have helped him obtain a high degree of success on behalf of his clients.
He has extensive experience on issues relating to forestry, pulp and paper, telecommunications, banking, health care, mining, aviation, retail, water rights, the state lottery, land development, oil, taxes, alcohol, tobacco and the environment.
Steve is on the Board of the Association of Washington Business (AWB) and has been the Vice Chair of the Government Affairs Committee.
He has been awarded the AWB Ron Gjerdi Award as "Lobbyist of the Year."
He has been a regular guest lecturer at the University of Washington Law School and a guest speaker at their School of Communications.
Prior to starting Steve Gano & Associates, he was the Director of Governmental Affairs for the Washington Forest Protection Association (WFPA) from 1987 to 1990. The WFPA is the trade association for the large commercial timber land owners in Washington State.
From 1986 to 1987 he was the Governmental Affairs Representative for the Rockwell Corporation at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. From 1984 to 1986 he was the Executive Director of the Washington State Association of Sewer Districts.
Steve has a Master’s of Science in Forest Products from the University of Idaho.
